Hogwarts Readathon TBR

If you have read my previous article, then you already know that I am having a readathon this weekend. Of course, anyone who wants to is welcome to join. Here is my TBR for this weekend. As I am quite a slow reader, I have picked only short books. However, I am still not sure to succeed. I guess we will see how it goes.

I/ READ ONE HARRY POTTER THEMED/RELATED BOOK.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Character Guide.

For this challenge, I chose a book about the characters from the movie Fantastic Beasts.

144 pages

II/ READ ONE COMIC BOOK/LISTEN TO 1 AUDIOBOOK.

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman.

“Charlie, a highly-strung, openly gay over-thinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player meet at a British all-boys gammar school. Friendship blooms quickly but could there be something more?”

This book was a Christmas gift from Amélie (@wastinginks on instagram) and I can’t wait to read it.

288 pages

III/ READ A BOOK THAT HAS BEEN ON YOUR TBR FOR FOREVER.

All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque

“This is the testatment of Paul Baümer who enlists with his classmates in the German army of WWI. These young men become enthusiastic soldiers but their world of duty, culture and progress breaks into pieces under the first bombardment in the trenches. Through years of vivid horror, Paul holds fast to a single vow: to fight against the hatred that meaninglessly pits young men of the same generation but different uniforms against one another – if only he cann come out of war alive.

I have wanted to read this book since first hearing of it in middle school so I guess it’s about time I finally read it.

253 pages

IV/ READ A BOOK YOU BOUGHT RECENTLY.

Your Second Life Begins When You Realize You Only Have One by Raphaelle Giordano

“At thrity-eight and a quarter years old, Paris native Camille has everything she needs to be happy: a good job, a loving husband, a wonderful son. Why then does she feel as if happiness has slipped through her fingers? All she wants is to find the path to joy and fulfilment. When Claude, a Sean Connery look-alike and routinologist offers his unique advice to help get her there, she seizes the opportunity with both hands. Camille’s journey is full of surprising escapades and richly meaningful lessons as she sets out to transform her life and realize her dreams one step at a time.”

This isn’t my usual type of writing but I do enjoy a feel-good novel every once in a while.

254 pages

And this is all for my TBR. I really hope I can read those 939 pages before the end of the readathon. Also, you might wonder why those covers are in French. It’s because I display them as I own them. I often read in English but somehow most of those are in French. I guess more of my short books are in French lol. Anyway, wish me luck. I will probably make an update article at some point next week to let you know how the challenge went and if I managed to read all these books or not. In the meantime, have some good reading time.
